Food Inc. is an academy award-nominated documentary directed by Robert Kenner, that attempts to unveil the truth about how food is produced and consumed compared to 50-60 years ago. The documentary looks into issues like the cruelty of animals and the lack of labeling on products, and tries to convince the audience that action must be taken if we are to not only be aware of what we are eating, but also to protect ourselves and our families from the kinds of things we are eating and have been for a number of years. Another angle the documentary attempts to provide is that of the government and other major corporations, and how they influence what food ends up on the shelves and also what laws and regulations relating to the industry are passed. Overall we found the documentary to be both informative and disturbing (unusual combination), and here is a further look into the documentary and our opinions on the matter.
